Working principle of electromagnetic coaxial valve

Nov 20,2024

Electromagnetic coaxial valves are control components widely used in hydraulic, pneumatic, automotive, metallurgical, petrochemical, and other industrial fields. They control the opening and closing of valves through the magnetic field generated by an electromagnet, thereby achieving flow regulation and control of liquids, gases, and other media in pipelines. This article will detail the working principle of electromagnetic coaxial valves.

I. Composition of Electromagnetic Coaxial Valves:

Electromagnetic coaxial valves are mainly composed of three parts: an electromagnet, an iron core, and a valve. The electromagnet is responsible for generating the magnetic field, the iron core conducts magnetic force, and the valve consists of the iron core and valve body, adjusting the opening and closing of the valve through the suction force of the iron core.

II. Working Principle of Electromagnetic Coaxial Valves:

The working principle of an electromagnetic coaxial valve relies on the magnetic field generated by the electromagnet to control the opening and closing of the valve. When the electromagnet is energized, the generated magnetic field causes the iron core to be subjected to suction force. This suction force pushes the valve core to move, thereby opening the valve and allowing the medium to pass through. Conversely, when the electromagnet is de-energized, the iron core loses its suction force, and the pre-tightening force of the spring (if a spring exists) returns the valve core to the closed position, cutting off the flow path of the medium, and the valve closes.

III. Types and Characteristics of Electromagnetic Coaxial Valves:

Basic Types:

Two-position, two-way coaxial valve: such as the CO-AX MK 10 type, mainly composed of a valve body, valve core, spring, and sealing components. The pre-tightening force of the spring keeps the valve core in the closed state. When fluid pressure acts on the valve core, it overcomes the pre-tightening force of the spring to open the valve.

Unique Advantages:

Pressure balance, zero-pressure pneumatic: Coaxial valves can operate normally in pressureless or low-pressure environments.
Resistant to relatively dirty media: Due to its structural characteristics, the coaxial valve has good tolerance for impurities in the medium.
Back pressure tight seal: The valve maintains good sealing performance under back pressure conditions.
Bidirectional media flow: Coaxial valves allow bidirectional flow of the medium within the valve.
Rapid response, fast action: Due to the rapid response of the electromagnet, the coaxial valve can complete the opening and closing action in a very short time.
Compact structure, small size: The coaxial valve has a compact design, suitable for installation in space-constrained environments.

Performance Parameters:

Aperture range: 1mm—250mm
Flow coefficient KV value: 0.06m³/h—650m³/h
Pressure range: Vacuum—500bar
Temperature range: -396℃—+400℃

IV. Applications of Electromagnetic Coaxial Valves:

Electromagnetic coaxial valves have wide applications in various industrial fields, including but not limited to:

Hydraulic and pneumatic systems: Used to control the flow rate and pressure of media in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Automotive manufacturing: Used to control the flow of various liquids and gases during automotive manufacturing.
Metallurgy and petrochemicals: Used in the metallurgical and petrochemical industries for the control of high-temperature, high-pressure, and corrosive media.
Machine tool industry: In machine tool processing, precise control of cutting fluid pressure and flow rate is achieved through coaxial valves.

V. Conclusion:

Electromagnetic coaxial valves, with their unique working principles and advantages, play an important role in various industrial fields. By controlling the opening and closing of valves through the magnetic field generated by the electromagnet, precise regulation and efficient management of media flow are achieved. With continuous technological advancements and expanding applications, electromagnetic coaxial valves will demonstrate their enormous potential and value in even more fields.
